Read the articleRough-sawn is particularly suitable for structures, rustic visible surfaces or areas where the surface will later be covered. Planed stock has a smoother, more even surface and is suitable above all for visible components and uses with higher demands on surface quality. Important: planing removes material. When making a choice you should therefore always compare the actual finished sizes, not just the description rough-sawn or planed. Where the difference comes from and how much comes off when planing is described in the article Sawn size and finished size in sawn timber.
Kiln-dried timber is brought to a defined moisture content under controlled conditions in a drying chamber. This makes it more dimensionally stable than fresh timber, and changes from further drying are as a rule smaller. Timber does not stop moving altogether afterwards, however. Whether kiln-dried stock is sensible or necessary depends on the use. What matters includes the dimensional accuracy wanted, surface quality, jointing method, coating and the later ambient humidity. For visible or dimension-critical components, dried timber is often advantageous; for other uses fresh timber can be sufficient. The right moisture content should therefore always be chosen to suit the specific purpose. How freshly sawn, air-dried and kiln-dried timber differ is shown in the article Freshly sawn, air-dried or kiln-dried.
Larch and spruce are typical timber species for facade cladding. Larch has a higher natural resistance to weathering than spruce. With both species, however, the construction, the moisture loading and the design detailing are decisive. Depending on the appearance and version wanted, cladding boards or rhombus profiles come into question, for example.
Many dimensions can be produced or cut to order. Whether a particular length or a special cross-section is possible depends on the timber species, the product, the raw material, the quantity and the production in question. Tell us the sizes and quantity you want and we will check which production suits.
From one pallet upwards we deliver in Germany and the DACH region, throughout Europe and, on request, worldwide. Below that, freight shipping is usually not worthwhile. Do talk to us – something can often be combined with another delivery.
The product, size, quantity and delivery postcode are enough. Your written quote follows promptly, usually within 24 hours.

Cleft, round or half-round. Machine-rounded, debarked or in bark. In robinia, oak, sweet chestnut, larch and softwood.
Paling fences, Bonanza fence boards, cross rails, fence posts and much more. Cut to your requirements.
Handrails in oak, beech, maple and ash. Six profiles, made to size.
Structural timber in oak is the native hardwood alternative to tropical timber and is often asked for outdoors. Structural timber in larch is resinous and dimensionally stable, structural timber in spruce is the economical choice for sheltered areas.
We supply beams, squared timber and planks rough-sawn or planed, chamfered or sharp-edged, with extra length or cut to size, and depending on timber species and cross-section freshly sawn or dried.
We supply structural timber, not KVH (Konstruktionsvollholz) and no graded stock with a load-bearing certificate. For components that require structural verification, please clarify the requirements with your designer or structural engineer and pass them on to us with the enquiry or the order.
We supply decking boards in German larch smooth planed, finely or coarsely ribbed; they are mostly used in garden and landscape construction.
We stock rough-sawn tongue-and-groove boards in spruce and larch, often used for roof boarding and visible linings. Cladding boards in larch and spruce, rhombus battens and facade profiles are used for facades and screening, among other things; spruce cladding is also often used as concrete formwork. Cladding boards are also available for board-on-board cladding.
We supply round timber in robinia with the sapwood removed and sanded, with evenly worked logs. In practice it is asked for play equipment, pergolas and outdoor structures, among other uses. From the same timber species we saw sawn timber in robinia.
Special cuts are part of everyday work for us. If your project needs a size no list provides, we check whether we can cut it, and tell you openly if something cannot be done. Our glossary explains technical terms from heartwood to finger jointing.
Different grades are possible for many timber species. Simply state the grade you want with your enquiry: we will check the options and allow for the available version accordingly in the quote.
From pallet quantities to a full lorry load, a great deal is possible depending on the product and availability – in Germany and the DACH region, throughout Europe and, on request, worldwide. For larger volumes we can usually calculate more favourably; the calculation is always made for the specific order.
