Which bracket do I need, and how many?
First choose the type, then set the length. Together the two give you your bracket list.
Step 1, bracket type
EasyFit für M12, with thread
The bracket is screwed in rather than bolted on. We pre-drill the handrail at the positions you want and insert the thread. All you do is screw the bracket in. The only bracket that fits all six profile shapes.

Typ B, round mounting plate
The mounting plate follows the curve of the profile and therefore sits flush over its whole face. Two screws are included; the bracket is fitted on site, without pre-drilling at the works.

Typ C, flat mounting plate
The plate is flat and is screwed to a straight side of the profile. Fits rectangular and square profiles and both Omega profiles. Two screws are included.

On request we pre-drill the handrail at the bracket positions at the works (only with the EasyFit für M12 bracket). You specify the spacings, or we divide them evenly.

It is best to order the end bend and the handrail together: we then set the thread to match at the works and all you do on site is screw the parts into each other.

Which profile is the right one?
Round and oval sit best in the hand and are the safe choice for heavily used staircases. Rectangular and square look more modern and calmer. The Omega profiles have a pronounced grip groove and are particularly pleasant when you slide your hand along them.
How long can a handrail be?
From 20 to 800 cm, accurate to the centimetre. Up to 350 cm we make it in one piece; above that we supply it in sections with a plug-in system. The parts are pushed together on site, after which the joint is barely noticeable.

Profile shape and timber species
Six profile shapes are available: round, oval, rectangular, square, and Omega kompakt and Omega klassisch. Round is the classic and feels good in any size of hand, oval sits flatter in the hand, the Omega profiles look slim on the wall. Every shape is available in oak, beech, maple and ash. Oak is hard with a lively figure and also works outdoors, beech takes lacquer most evenly, maple is the lightest option and ash the toughest.
Surfaces and appearance
There are three surfaces to choose from: untreated, oiled and lacquered. Untreated suits you if you want to treat it yourself. Oiled feels the most natural and can be re-oiled at any time.
Lacquered surfaces are the easiest to look after and the most robust choice in a busy stairwell. The lacquer is clear, so the grain stays visible.
Lengths, plug-in system and brackets
We make any length from 20 to 800 cm accurate to the centimetre. From 350 cm we supply the handrail with a plug-in system so that it stays transportable and can be joined cleanly on site.
As a rule of thumb for the number of brackets: two brackets up to 150 cm, then one more for every additional 100 cm started. Matching handrail brackets in several types and end bends for round profiles are supplied with it.
Care
A handrail is touched constantly, so its surface lives. Oiled handrails feel warm and natural; depending on use, they are given a thin coat of a suitable hard wax or furniture oil once or twice a year. Before that it is enough to wipe the surface dry and lightly sand any dull areas.
Lacquered surfaces need no re-oiling. They are simply wiped with a damp cloth, without abrasive cleaners and without standing water. Untreated handrails you can treat yourself, as long as the surface is clean and dry.
