Larch fence rails, all the essentials

Product description

Larch fence rails serve as a horizontal cross member within a fence construction and carry narrow and wide fence pales or comparable elements. They are made from German larch and supplied planed.

Rails with a weather chamfer and half-round planed versions are available. The weather chamfer forms a sloping face and thereby helps water run off the top of the rail. The half-round option, by contrast, offers a softer, more strongly rounded look.

With the standard cross-sections 45 × 75 mm and 45 × 95 mm and freely selectable lengths, the rails can be adapted to different fence projects.

Also common are the terms cross rails, cross battens and rail timber.

Areas of use

Larch fence rails are used as horizontal cross rails on garden, property and horse fences and on other fence installations in garden and landscape construction.

Narrow or wide fence boards, for example, can be fixed to the rails. Which dimension and version makes sense depends on the fence height, the post spacing, the build and the appearance wanted.

Origin & sustainability

The timber for our larch fence rails comes from sustainably managed forests in Germany.

Delivery

Delivery is made through various freight partners. The lead time is as a rule approx. 2 to 4 weeks and can vary according to the version, the length to order, the order quantity and the delivery location.

Alongside small order quantities, larger quantities up to complete or several lorry loads can also be organised.

Depending on the scope of delivery and the vehicle used, a forklift or comparable lifting equipment may be needed for unloading.

Collection at our Hennef address is not possible, as only our offices are located there.

The standard cross-sections are 45 × 75 mm and 45 × 95 mm.
The rails are available planed with a weather chamfer or half-round planed.
Usual lengths are between 2.00 and 4.00 m. Lengths to order can be cut for the specific project.
The weather chamfer helps water run off the top of the rail.
Larch is a natural product. Differences in colour, knots, grain and resin content can occur.
Under weathering, larch left natural changes colour over time and can develop a grey patina.
Special sizes and further versions can be enquired about subject to availability.
