Larch posts, all the essentials

Product description

Larch posts are cut square from German larch and supplied rough-sawn or planed depending on the version wanted. Various cross-sections and individually cut lengths allow flexible adaptation to different fence and outdoor projects.

You have a choice of machining: the posts can be pointed or square cut, chamfered at the head, chamfered on the long sides or both together. Which version is possible depends on the cross-section.

Larch is a resinous softwood and, because of its properties, is often used in garden and landscape construction and for outdoor structures. The posts are available either freshly sawn or kiln-dried to a moisture content of approx. 18 % ± 2 %.

Also common are the terms larch squared timber, larch fence post and larch gate post.

Areas of use

Larch posts are used above all in fence building and in garden and landscape construction. Typical applications are garden fences, pasture and paddock fences, horse fences and corner, gate and intermediate posts.

Beyond that, the posts can be used for edgings, climbing structures and other outdoor projects. Thanks to the various cross-sections and the lengths possible to order, the version can be matched to the project in hand.

Origin & sustainability

The timber for our larch posts comes from sustainably managed forests in Germany.

Depending on the version wanted, the timber is worked directly to the cross-sections and lengths needed. Alongside the usual standard sizes, project-specific dimensions can therefore also be produced.

Delivery

Delivery is made through various freight partners. The lead time is as a rule approx. 2 to 4 weeks and can vary according to the dimensions, the version, the order quantity and the delivery location.

The larch posts are supplied by the pallet. Larger order quantities up to complete or several lorry loads can be organised accordingly.

Depending on the scope of delivery and the vehicle used, a forklift or comparable lifting equipment may be needed for unloading. When you enquire, please let us know what unloading facilities are available on site.

Collection at our Hennef address is not possible, as only our offices are located there.

The size table shows our usual standard cross-sections and lengths. Further dimensions and lengths to order can be cut individually subject to availability.
The posts are available both freshly sawn and kiln-dried to approx. 18 % moisture content ± 2 %. The version wanted should be stated with the enquiry.
With freshly cut timber, cracks, slight distortion and changes in size can develop during further drying.
Larch is a natural product. Differences in colour, knots, grain, resin content and surface are typical of timber.
Requirements regarding appearance, dimensional accuracy, knots or surface quality should be stated with the enquiry so that the appropriate version can be agreed.
Pointed and square-cut ends as well as head and long-side chamfers are possible depending on the dimension and availability.
