Timber piles, all the essentials

Product description

Timber piles are long round-timber piles that are driven into the ground with a pile driver. We supply them debarked or with bark and either blunt or pointed on four sides. The point makes driving easier; a blunt end is chosen when the pile is set in a different way.

Available diameters are 15 to 50 cm and lengths up to 20 m. The timber species available are pine, spruce, larch, Douglas fir, oak and robinia. For driving, the head can be protected with a steel plate or secured against splitting with a head ring.

Areas of use

Timber piles are used in water engineering, in coastal and flood protection and for bank stabilisation, for example for groynes, bank revetments and jetties. They also serve for embankment stabilisation and as foundations for structures.

Which timber species and which dimensions are suitable depends on the subsoil, the water level and the loading and is to be determined as part of the planning.

Origin & sustainability

The timber for our timber piles comes from sustainably managed forests.

Delivery

Delivery is made through various freight partners. The lead time is as a rule approx. 1 to 6 weeks and can vary according to the dimensions, the order quantity and the delivery location.

For delivery by crane lorry, unloading takes place free to site. Please make sure that the unloading area is easily accessible.

Depending on the scope of delivery and the vehicle used, a forklift or comparable lifting equipment may be needed for unloading. When you enquire, please let us know what unloading facilities are available on site. Collection from our location in Hennef is not possible.

Important notes

  • Timber piles are a natural product. Curvature, taper, knots and cracks can occur.
  • The diameters are given as ranges. The exact diameter of a pile changes along its length.
  • Which timber species, which diameter and which length come into question for a construction project depends on the planning, the subsoil and the loading and must be determined for the specific project.
  • On request, the pile head can be fitted with a steel plate as driving protection or with a head ring against splitting.
  • We agree the transport and unloading of very long piles with you in advance.
  • Further diameters, lengths and versions are possible on request subject to availability.
